Hope on the horizon for Huntington’s Disease
NEWS Hope on the horizon for Huntington’s Disease
Published on September 26, 2025
This week brought news that offers extraordinary hope to families affected by Huntington’s Disease. Early trial results from a pioneering gene therapy show that the progression of this cruel condition may be slowed by as much as 75%. That could mean many more precious years together for those living with Huntington’s.
For us at Leigh Duncan, this breakthrough feels personal. Our colleague Samantha Smith and her remarkable team, the Ladies Who Dare, have spent recent years dedicating themselves to raising funds and awareness for the Huntington’s Disease Association. From throwing themselves out of a plane in 2022 to conquering the Himalayas earlier this year, their courage and commitment have been inspiring.
Together, the Ladies Who Dare have now raised nearly £47,000. Every donation, every word of encouragement, and every act of solidarity has helped fuel research that is starting to show spectacular results.
We are immensely proud of Sam and her team, and deeply grateful to our clients, colleagues, and friends who supported them along the way. This week’s announcement is proof that each daring step has mattered.
It’s a reminder that when people come together – whether through fundraising, research, or community support – hope can turn into lasting change.
